Barbed Rebar Hangers are used to hang rebar in the Monolithic Dome. The barbs are used to attach the hangers to the urethane foam.
Barbed Rebar Hangers are also used to hang rebar in EcoShell II construction. The hangers are attached to the first layer of concrete using a very strong adhesive. The barbs help ensure good attachment of the rebar hangers to the concrete. Then the rebar is attached and more concrete is sprayed.
